10 Firms to Watch in 2010

by on March 22, 2010

With a brighter economic outlook on the horizon,  many law firms operating in Asia are ramping up their recruitment efforts and expanding their practices in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore and other APAC centers.  According to the Asia Legal Business Watchlist, 10 firms in particular bear watching.  Some of the names on the list are big name firms that most lawyers will be familiar (e.g., Norton Rose), while others are not quite household names in the legal field (Hwang Mok Park).

If one were to judge solely by the comments of the firm heads interviewed for the survey, one would think that job opportunities are going to start appearing again very shortly, meaning the third and fourth quarters of 2010. And of course, some key economic indicators do in fact point to a turn around in employment trends so this would be a good time to target some of the firms on the list if you are considering a lateral move or seeking your first engagement in Asia.
