Firm News: Alex Lloyd to Join Sidley Austin in Hong Kong

In a recent press release, Sidley Austin announced that Alex Lloyd will be joining the Hong Kong office as part of the firm’s U.S. Corporate Finance practice  He will join as a partner commencing on May 1, 2010.

The firm’s managing partner, William Fifield, commented:

“Alex is an experienced capital markets lawyer who brings a wealth of experience in the high yield and capital markets arenas…He will be a key player in our already deep bench of over 50 corporate lawyers in Asia/Pacific.”

Also commenting was Thomas Albrecht, a member of Sidley’s Management Committee:

“Sidley has a strong global practice in debt capital markets, and our Asia/Pacific offices are critical to that practice…As the region continues its unprecedented economic growth, capital raising will be necessary to fuel that growth, and we anticipate that the high yield debt and equity capital markets will continue to be very active. We welcome Alex as the newest member of our team and we look forward to his many contributions to our future growth and expansion.”

Mr. Lloyd is experienced in debt and equity capital markets and high yield debt offerings and IPOs in particular. In the equity arena, Mr, Lloyd has worked mainly on Hong Kong IPOs and other global equity issues listed in Singapore.  Mr. Lloyd graduated cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and received his B.A., with honors from Dartmouth College. He has practiced law in Hong Kong for five years, and previously worked in London and Washington, D.C.
