Singapore Events: Inter-Pacific Bar Association 20th Annual Conference

by on April 7, 2010

The Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) will hold its 20th annual conference in Singapore from 2 -5 May, 2010.  The conference’s theme for the year will be “Climate Change and Legal Practice”.  According to the IPBA, the choice was made because the organizing committee believes that “Climate Change, in the form of global warming, is one of the most serious challenges, if not the most serious challenge, that the world will face in the 21st century. It will significantly change the way business is done and will create both new challenges as well as new opportunities in many areas of legal practice.”

Speakers will include former United States Vice-President, Al Gore, as well as former Singapore Prime Minster, Lee Kuan Yew.

Attendees from many jurisdictions will also be eligible for CLD/CLE credit:

“For delegates from countries where CPD / CLE is mandatory, the IPBA will be pleased to provide a certificate of attendance which, subject to exact CPD / CLE requirements, may be used to obtain accreditation in your jurisdiction. Certificates will be available from IPBA staff at the registration desk.”

For more information on CLD/CLE accreditation please visit the IPBA conference website.
